TASCA Mezze Bar

Tasca is a restaurant serving high-quality fast food — quick, informal, home-style cooking.

The name does a lot of work on its own. Tasca means “the party” in Arabic and “the table” in Spanish and Italian, three references that converge on exactly what a mezze bar is: shared plates, no ceremony, people staying longer than they planned. The identity only had to make that convergence visible.

The typography was built to recall the lettering of Mediterranean restaurants — the hand-painted signs and worn facades that carry a specific kind of credibility, the sort a new place cannot buy. The result reads as familiar rather than novel, which for a restaurant is the more useful quality: it invites people in before they have read the menu.
