Acuicultura.es is a professional news portal for the Spanish-speaking aquaculture sector: daily news, market information, science, legislation, species, a supplier directory, events, jobs and a monthly magazine.

For this project I designed and developed the whole portal: the editorial identity, the information architecture and the WordPress build behind it. The challenge of a trade news site is density. There is a lot to tell every day, and its readers (producers, technicians, researchers and suppliers) need to find what concerns them in a few seconds.

The answer is a classic, reliable editorial structure: a strong navy and coral identity, a breaking-news ticker, sections organised by topic, by species and by country, and a clear typographic hierarchy that keeps long front pages readable on both desktop and mobile, with a dark mode for comfortable reading.

Behind the design, the portal runs on an automated workflow that gathers and publishes sector news every day, together with a weekly newsletter and advertising spaces designed into the layout from the start, so the site can sustain itself as a media business.
